First that you are going to do is to set a budget. Decide from the beginning what you can and will spend on your home furnishing and decorating. Having an idea in advance of the kind of look, style and color you want for your home will save you headaches later on.

In choosing the style, you can go for traditional or contemporary depending on what turns you on. If you wanted to be “in” then you can opt for contemporary style for your home.  To the rooms in your house, you can assign each a purpose before you try to furnish them. And before you go shopping, know first the size of the rooms, walls, windows and your doorways so to make sure that the furniture pieces you are going to buy will fit into the rooms.
